PrepNation 101 Preseason Countdown: No. 31 Tulsa Union

PrepNation.com continues the most comprehensive package of preseason high school football rankings ever published. We are counting down the PrepNation 101 Preseason High School Football Rankings, from No. 101 to No. 26, leading up to the release of the official preseason National Prep Poll on August 3.

31. Union (Tulsa, Okla.)
Last season: 13-1, Class 6A state champion
Coach: Kirk Fridrich
Key players: OL Alec Henry (6-4, 285, Sr.), QB Chase Boyce (5-11, 175, Sr.), WR Thomas Roberson (6-3, 180, Sr.), James Roberson (6-3, 180, Sr.), TE Deonte Morris (6-2, 210, Sr.), DB Luke Sinder (5-11, 165, Sr.)
Outlook: The Redskins did their part to keep the Jenks-Union combined stranglehold on the state championship trophy last season. Remarkably, one of the two archrivals has won every 6A title since 1996. Union begins this year as co-favorite with the Trojans to keep that string alive. Seven starters are back on offense, yet a major void has been left with the graduation of all-state RB Jeremy Smith (Oklahoma St.). That is soothed somewhat by the return an experienced signal caller in Boyce. His top targets are the Roberson twins, who have both committed to play at Tulsa. The offensive line has two returning starters led by Henry, an all-state guard. The defense lacks star power, but does return six starters including a great leader and hard-nosed player in Snider.
