PrepNation 101 Preseason Countdown: No. 58 North Shore

PrepNation.com continues the most comprehensive package of preseason high school football rankings ever published. We are counting down the PrepNation 101 Preseason High School Football Rankings, from No. 101 to No. 26, leading up to the release of the official preseason National Prep Poll on August 3.

58. North Shore (Houston)
Last season: 9-1, lost in third round of Class 5A/I playoffs
Coach: David Aymond
Key players: OT Trey Hopkins (6-3, 270, Sr.), OT Sedrick Flowers (6-2, 280, Sr.), WR DeAndrew White (6-0, 180, Sr.), DB Alton Demby (5-9, 175, Sr.), DB Larry Stephens 6-0, 185, Sr.), RB Tracy Woods (5-11, 215, Sr.), LB Derrick Matthews (6-0, 180, Sr.)
Outlook: The Mustangs return four offensive and four defensive starters, and all eight were all-district selections last season. The group includes three-starter Hopkins, a highly athletic lineman who has committed to play at Texas. Another highly rated recruit is White, an explosive WR with great leaping ability. The top returning rusher is Woods, a physical back who can move the chains. The strength of North Shore’s defense likely is its secondary, where a pair of Division I recruits in Stephens (Oklahoma St.) and Demby (Houston) both return.
