     FEATS OF THE WEEK: Senior Chase VanSchoyck broke his own single-game state rushing record during Farmersburg, Ind., North Central’s 71-50 win against Bloomfield, Ind., Eastern Greene. VanSchoyck ran for 562 yards in the game, breaking the record of 511 yards he set against Montezuma, Ind., Riverton Parke last season. ... Senior Jeremiah Crowley of Oakdale, Conn., Montville set his state’s single-game rushing record with 526 yards in a 49-37 win against Stonington. ... Senior Brandon Toman had a state-record 655 passing yards and five touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to keep Madison, Wis., Memorial from losing to Sun Prairie, Wis., 52-42. ... Also in Wisconsin, a new state scoring record was set when Oconomowoc, Wis., edged Milwaukee, Wisconsin Lutheran, 84-82. Oconomowoc senior quarterback Canton Larson led the Raccoons with four passing and four rushing touchdowns. ... Senior Kamal Cass ran for 326 yards and eight touchdowns, but Clovis, N.M., still lost a 62-59 heartbreaker in overtime to Rio Rancho, N.M. ... In a much-anticipated matchup of last year’s Class 2A and 4A state titlists, River Ridge, La., John Curtis edged New Orleans, Karr, 38-33. Karr entered the game ranked fifth nationally. Unranked John Curtis was No. 1 in the National Prep Poll at the end of last season.
