FEATS OF THE WEEK: No. 5 Southlake, Texas, Carroll – twice a Prep Poll titlist last decade – advanced to its first state championship game in six years by rallying to beat then-No. 4 Dallas, Skyline, 28-24. The Dragons trailed by 10 with less than two minutes before scoring two touchdowns in the span of 21 seconds to win the Class 5A-I semifinal game. ... Lake Oswego, Ore., entered the national poll at No. 20 after hammering then-regionally ranked Eugene, Sheldon, 47-14, for its first Class 6A state title. Gatorade State Player of the Year Steven Long led the way for the Lakers with 322 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 42 carries. ... A dominant defensive effort carried No. 4 Loganville, Ga., Grayson to its first-ever state crown. The Rams beat then-undefeated Marietta, Walton, 24-0, in the 5A final at the Georgia Dome. Grayson had built their 24-0 advantage by halftime while limiting Walton to negative-19 total yards, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. ... In Louisiana, championships were again won by two of the state’s most dominant programs. In the 2A final, River Ridge, Curtis whipped Winnfield, 33-3, for its 24th title since 1975. In 5A, West Monroe beat Lafayette, Carencro, 20-13, for its eighth championship since 1993.

CD Rams of Harrisburg,PA no. 2 northeast regional..take notice because some of the best football is played the COUNTRY is played there EVERY YEAR...Bishop McDevitt of again Harrisburg,PA should probably be mentioned in that N.E.regional also...McD alum...Ricky Watters...LeSean McCoy...Eagles...Aaron Berry....Lions...Jaime Thomas...Colts....Marques Colston ...Susquehanna Township...Jeremiha Hunter..The Burg...Saints..just to name a few...there are so many more!
