Javan Shashaty of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Calvary Christian broke a Broward County record by throwing eight touchdown passes in his team’s 55-26 win against Pompano Beach, Highlands Christian, according to the Miami Herald. ... Myrtle Beach, S.C., entered the regional rankings after beating then-No. 25 Duncan, Byrnes, 28-21, in overtime. It was Byrnes’ first home loss in 71 games. ... Don't know why Euless Trinity dropped. Abilene scored 77 points the previous week. I thought they did well to hold them to 17. Abilene is 1-1, not 0-2 as Startelegram erroneously reported.
