Week 14 National Prep Football Poll released

URBANDALE, Iowa -- Cleveland public schools power Glenville is back in the Top 10 rankings of the weekly National Prep Poll. The Tarblooders, who started the season ranked No. 5, are No. 8 this week after eliminating then-No. 4 St. Ignatius from the postseason and avenging their only loss of the season.

Glenville beat the Wildcats, 30-13, in a Division I second-round playoff game Saturday. It was the fifth win in the last seven meetings over St. Ignatius for the Tarblooders, who are three wins away from capturing their first state championship.

No. 24 Memphis (Tenn.) University also entered the national poll this week. The defending Division II-AA state champion Owls have won 24 consecutive games.

Why are The Woodlands still so highly ranked? They barely won, also Allen should be at least regionally ranked, they just might win state this year and knock off Cedar Hill, who struggled against an average opponent. If they beat SLC, who are also doing great this year, they deserve a spot in your polls.

And the Trinty Trojans will win state this year, they gave a whipping to Flower Mound, 88-27, 805 yds or offense. I think they deserve a spot in your regional rankings, having their only losses early this season by close games against Cedar Hill and Allen.

South Carolina - Byrnes .....
still can't figure why they are rated so high. WEAK SCHEDULE they are 4A and scheduling 3A and 2A teams and played only 1 nationally deserving team...... How can a teams get to 3rd round of state playoffs and play a team with a 5-8 record? 8 Losses and in the 3rd round of state playoffs WHY WHY WHY....... Keep up the great scheduling of 2A and 3A cupcake teams....... I heard the Little Sisters of the Poor are looking for a game next year....... Dont think about schedling a real contender team from OHIO .....PS How old is that star running back on the Byrnes teams 19-20-21 ??

Excuse me Byrnes hater, Byrnes played teams from Ohio in 2006 and 2007 and won both years, beating Cincinnati Moeller in 2006 so don't go there. Where did you get this nonsense of Byrnes playing 2a teams because there's not a 2a team on their schedule, hasn't been in years and the 3a team Myrtle Beach, SC) that they played was the defending state champion last year and ranked #1 in 3a this year and is the favorite to win it again this year. Don't be so quick to knock Byrnes schedule because they play Dorman, SC who is one of the better programs in the southeast. From 2005 until now, Byrnes has played teams from Tennessee (2005), Florida (once in 2006, 2007, 2009, and twice in 2008), Ohio (2006, 2007), and Georgia (2008, 2009) so don't go there claiming that Byrnes will not play anybody...they will and aren't afraid to travel to do so. Now there's some great teams in you precious Ohio, but tell them to travel and play teams from Georgia, Florida, or the Carolinas before u start complaining about Byrnes and who they play.

And as far as the one deserving nationally ranked team... that team happens to be the consensus #1 ranked team in the country St. Thomas Aquinas at their place and Byrnes gave them their toughest game of the season, playing them very well. Please don't go there... COME ON MAN!!!

Alcoa (TN) just won it's sixth straight state title, this year being 3A. They also beat Maryville (TN) 41-24 this year. Maryville will be playing for 6A title tomorrow night. Alcoa is arguably the best team in the state of TN. When do they start getting the national attention they deserve? They have a 29 game win streak, against teams much larger than they. They will play anybody anytime......but now they have to go to Kentucky to schedule games because EVERYONE in TN is scared to play them. This is their sixth straight title, and they are only reloading for the next three years, could easily go undefeated for the next three seasons, regardless who they play. (Maryville lost last year after winning 4 straight 4A titles, bringing the longest win streak in the nation to an end at 74 games.) Maryville only beat Alcoa by 7 points last year, and only Maryville has been able to beat them. Alcoa is also a public school and doesn't get to recruit like the private schools.
