Week 11 National Prep Football Poll released

URBANDALE, Iowa -- Two-time defending Florida 5A champion St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) remains No. 1 in the National Prep Poll for the 24th consecutive week.

It's the longest any team has held the top spot in the national rankings since six-time Prep Poll champion De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) held the top spot from the beginning of the 2000 season through the first game of 2004.

The Raiders have won 31 consecutive games dating back to the middle of the 2007 season by average score of 44-9. They have already beaten a Top-10 team this season (No. 2 Byrnes) and may get the opportunity to play another, No. 7 Lakeland, during the state playoffs.

Brynes is a great team. But they have a loss. And the score which looks decent would have been larger if not for a last play TD. I think Don Bosco Prep is being underrated in this. I think being undefeated and having a schedule like DBP is worth some more value. STA is one of the toghest teams in the land but Prattville and De La Salle aren't light weights either. Dorman can play with either team, but Mrytle Beach is not quite there yet.

Byrnes has 4,188 yards of total offence and has given up only 1,619. Byrnes went to Fla. and faced the #1 Team in the Nation and put over 600+ yard on them.
I would say they earned the #2 spot easy.

Bosco is the best team in the country. This poll is nuts.

haha. Bosco is lucky to be where they are, besides De La Salle(who would probably beat them how they are playing now) they have played no one. St. Thomas would walk all over them, end of story. You may be a Bosco fan but wake up. Bosco deserves to around 5-6 based on that performance last week. Be lucky they are where they are.

Moeller should be higher, they have been playing magnificent lately after killing elder and st edward. I've seen both Ignatious and Moeller and i think moeller is better. And based on what ive seen of Bosco over the years i don't think they are top 5.

Prep Nation is evaluates the National landscape in HS Football and then ranks the teams they deem worthy of ranking. The comments are interesting and yes most if not all of these teams are worthy. However how can you leave Lake Travis HS, Austin Texas out of the rankings? Back to Back State Champions, 39 Straight Wins, Averaging 52 points a game, so dominant that the Starters only play the first half of most games. The Lake Travis HS Football program is one of the nations premier programs with all sub-varsity teams having undefeated seasons. Lake Travis sent 8 graduates to Division 1 Schools last year and this year Lake Travis is being heavily recruited. So why does Prep Nation leave Lake Travis off the National Rankings?
