PrepNation 101 Preseason Countdown: No. 10 Cedar Hill

PrepNation.com continues the most comprehensive package of preseason high school football rankings ever published. We are counting down the PrepNation 101 Preseason High School Football Rankings, from No. 101 to No. 26, leading up to the release of the official preseason National Prep Poll on August 3.

10. Cedar Hill (Texas)
Last season: 12-2, Class 5A/II state quarterfinalist
Coach: Joey McGuire
Key players: RB Ben Malena (5-9, 205, Sr.), LB Aaron Benson (6-1, 210, Sr.), OG Adam Shead (6-4, 300, Sr.), OL Josh Allen (6-3, 265, Sr.), FS Elisha Olabode (5-11, 180, Sr.), K Eduardo Camara (5-9, 150, Sr.), WR Lovett Gibson (6-2, 180, Jr.), QB Driphus Jackson (6-1, 185, Jr.)
Outlook: With seven starters returning on offense and six back on defense, the Longhorns are in excellent position to vie for their second state title in four years. An offense that averaged 36 points per game could be even better this season. The workhorse of the unit will again be Malena, a Texas A&M commit who ran for 2,202 yards and 35 touchdowns last season. He runs behind an offensive line with three all-district players back including massive Oklahoma-bound OG Shead. Returning at QB is Jackson, who had 1,316 passing yards and 818 rushing yards as a sophomore starter. The defense is anchored by Benson, a future Texas Longhorn who had 155 tackles and seven sacks. The captain of an otherwise youthful secondary will be Olabode, who had 99 tackles and three interceptions last season. Arkansas-bound K Camara gives the Longhorns an added weapon with his field goal range that extends beyond 50 yards.
