PrepNation 101 Preseason Countdown: No. 55 Good Counsel

PrepNation.com continues the most comprehensive package of preseason high school football rankings ever published. We are counting down the PrepNation 101 Preseason High School Football Rankings, from No. 101 to No. 26, leading up to the release of the official preseason National Prep Poll on August 3.

55. Good Counsel (Olney, Md.)
Last season: 11-1, WCAC runner-up
Coach: Bob Milloy
Key players: CB-WR Louis Young (6-1, 190, Sr.), DB-WR E.J. Scott (5-11, 170, Sr.), DE Troy Gloster (6-0, 210, Sr.), TE-DT Vince Croce (6-5, 230, Jr.), LB Chris Pitsenberger (5-11, 210, Sr.), DT A.J. Bowman (5-10, 220, Sr.) QB Zach Dancel (5-11, 170, Jr.), DB Frank Tamakloe (6-3, 190, Sr.)
Outlook: Once again, the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference likely will be a two-team race between Good Counsel and nationally ranked DeMatha. Coach Milloy’s squad has defeated the Stags in the regular season three of the last six years, but has been unable to repeat the trick in the WCAC championship game. This year, seven starters return on each side of the ball. There is tremendous athleticism at the skill positions. In the secondary, Young (Stanford), Scott (Virginia), and Tamakloe (Wisconsin) have all made Division I verbal commitments. The leaders on the defensive front are Pitsenberger and Bowman, who both earned first team all-conference accolades last season. The triggerman on offense will be first-year starter Dancel
