PrepNation 101 Preseason Countdown: No. 95 Hoover

PrepNation.com continues the most comprehensive package of preseason high school football rankings ever published. We are counting down the PrepNation 101 Preseason High School Football Rankings, from No. 101 to No. 26, leading up to the release of the official preseason National Prep Poll on August 3.

95. Hoover (Ala.)
Last season: 13-2, Class 6A state runner-up
Coach: Josh Niblett
Key players: WR Maudrecus Humphrey (6-2, 180, Sr.), LB John Propst (6-0, 215, Sr.), WR Josh Magee (5-10, 170, Sr.), QB Ryan Carter (6-1, 180 Jr.), DB Antwan Williams (5-11, 165, Sr.)
Outlook: The Bucs dominated Alabama prep football the first half of this decade, winning five state championships from 2000-05. Nine starters are back from last year’s team, which lost a 16-13 heartbreaker to nationally ranked Prattville in the 6A championship game. Highly touted WR Humphrey and first-year starter Carter will lead the Hoover offense while West Virginia-bound LB Propst is back to fortify an otherwise inexperienced defensive unit.
