PrepNation 101 Preseason Countdown: No. 72 Hamilton

PrepNation.com continues the most comprehensive package of preseason high school football rankings ever published. We are counting down the PrepNation 101 Preseason High School Football Rankings, from No. 101 to No. 26, leading up to the release of the official preseason National Prep Poll on August 3.

72. Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.)
Last season: 13-1, Class 5A/I state champion
Coach: Steve Belles
Key players: SS Devon Carrington (6-2, 200, Sr.), RB Zach Bauman (5-10, 210, Sr.), RB Michael Allen (5-10, 170, Sr.). QB Travis Dean (5-11, 185, Sr.), OL Christian Westerman (6-5, 290, Jr.), LB Ben Peters (6-2, 215, Sr.)
Outlook: Last year the Huskies picked up their fourth state title in nine years and improved to 38-3 in three seasons under Belles' guidance. Three top players signed in February with Pac-10 universities but there are still 12 starters back. Leading the group is Stanford-bound DB Carrington, who had 63 tackles and four interceptions as a junior. Hamilton's offense topped the 40-point mark eight times last season and could be even better in ’09. Westerman and four other offensive linemen have game experience. The running game should be outstanding with the tandem of Bauman and Allen toting the football.
