PrepNation 101 Preseason Countdown: No. 41 Pahokee

PrepNation.com continues the most comprehensive package of preseason high school football rankings ever published. We are counting down the PrepNation 101 Preseason High School Football Rankings, from No. 101 to No. 26, leading up to the release of the official preseason National Prep Poll on August 3.

41. Pahokee (Fla.)
Last season: 12-3, Class 2B state champion
Coach: Blaze Thompson
Key players: QB De’Joshua Johnson (5-11, 170, Sr.), TE-DE Zack Allen (6-3, 220, Sr.), OL-DL Richard Ash (6-3, 275, Sr.), OL-DL Antonio Ford (6-3, 265, Sr.), WR Fred Pickett (5-11, 165, Sr.), OG Doral Willis (6-0, 300, Sr.), DB Merrill Noel (5-10, 165, Sr.), WR Chris Dunkley (6-0, 175, Sr.), DB Raheam Buxton (6-0, 175, Sr.)
Outlook: The Blue Devils, who have five state titles the last six seasons, once again have a roster packed with Division I talent. Nine seniors are rated two stars or higher by rivals.com and five have already committed to major Division I programs. Wide receiver is a position of particular strength. West Virginia-bound Pickett and Royal Palm Beach transfer Dunkley are great targets for Johnson, a converted WR himself and Florida St. commit. There is a lot of speed and athleticism in Pahokee’s secondary, as well. Noel has pledged to play at Florida St. Buxton, who will is only a first-year starter, has committed to play at Miami. The Blue Devils are also very strong in the trenches where Ash, Ford, and Willis are all highly rated prospects.
