Week 15 National Prep Football Poll released

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A weekend filled with postseason upsets opened the door for three teams to make their season debut in National Prep Poll Top 25.

The highest riser in the Week 15 poll was No. 8 Hightower (Missouri City, Texas). The Hurricanes, who are led by Miami recruit QB A.J. Highsmith, upset then-No. 11 North Shore, 28-21, in the Class 5A/I regional quarterfinals.

Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) also moved from the regional rankings into the national Top 10 this week. The No. 10 Knights clobbered Compton, 42-0, in the opening round of the CIF-SS Pac-5 playoffs. An undefeated winner of this division, which also includes No. 5 Long Beach Poly, will likely be chosen to represent Southern California in the CIF's Open Division state championship game next month.

Bethel Park (Pa.) entered the Top 25 for the first team at No. 15. The Black Hawks shut down then-No. 6 Gateway (Monroeville), 10-6, to claim their first WPIAL 4A championship.

Again I don't understand how Camden County can beat Northside Warner Robbins "a Power" and drop one spot while 3 previously NR teams vault past them including one that went to #8 by defeating #11. HUH?
Is there some bias against having 2 teams from Georgia in their rightful spots in the top 10.
You move teams out through defeat and move unranked teams in above established teams that have been ranked all season. Did these teams suddenly become great or did you just miss them all season?

BYRNES REBELS WILL WIN THIS FRIDAY

Long Beach Poly moves up 3 spots on the basis of a 4 point win in their 1st round playoff game.
I just don't get your system, Camden County this week beat a Northside WR team with a legitimate 1A RB that plays in the toughest region in Georgia and has lost only to #3 Lowndes this year.
This late in the season no team should vault into the top 10 from an unrated status on the basis of a single win, top 25 maybe or a stretch into the top 20 if they beat a legitimate top 10 team, but no team jumps 15 or more spots this late in the game.
Just my .02

How can a team not ranked beat a team ranked #11 and get to #8. That makes me question what it takes to get ranked in this poll.

yea this poll used to be one of the best. Starting to look like the old Chris Lawlor USA Today poll.

Like why the heck is Lakeland Fla ranked that low, having played the toughest schedule of any ranked Florida team and is 65-2 over 5 years. But i guess you will just do them like 2004, when they should easily finished top 4 in any poll that year along with Colerain, SLC, and Mission. Again 2004 they take on the toughest schedule in the state and won out, yet finished #9.

While I don't always agree with it, ESPN has been doing a pretty decent job so far. And seems to have pasted this poll.

It's hard to see how Maryville, Tn., Rebels could win thier 73rd game in a row and drop from 22nd to 25th in the standings.
