WAUKEE, Iowa -- Perennial DC-area powerhouse DeMatha (Hyattsville) was one of the top risers in the Week 9 National Prep Basketball Poll. The Stats jumped from No. 16 to No. 10 after a 69-45 blowout win against Roselle (N.J.) Catholic, a team that was No. 4 in the rankings last week. DeMatha is now 3-1 versus teams that have been nationally or regionally ranked this season.

Findlay dominated No. 22 Lincolnshire, Ill., Stevenson, 84-58, in a game played
at the HoopHall Classic in Springfield, Mass. The contest featured two of the
nation’s top-rated senior guards. Findlay’s Allonzo Trier (an Arizona recruit)
scored 27 points while Stevenson’s Jalen Brunson (Villanova) poured in 26. ... In
other HoopHall action, Radnor, Pa., Archbishop Carroll re-entered the national
poll for the first time since mid-December after a 77-68 win over No. 24
Chicago, Simeon. Senior guard Derrick Jones (UNLV) led the 23rd-ranked Patriots
with 31 points and 14 rebounds. ... At the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions in
Springfield, Mo., No. 4 Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill toppled an eight-team field
that featured six squads that have been ranked this season. Senior guard Dwayne
Bacon (Florida St.) was named tournament MVP after scoring 33 points in Oak
Hill’s 82-59 win against No. 8 High Point, N.C., Wesleyan Christian in the
championship game. In the first round of the tournament, Bacon scored 32 as the
Warriors beat Chino Hills, Calif., 86-77. Chino Hills was led by senior guard
Lonzo Ball, who posted a triple-double with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 13
assists. In the fifth-place game, Ball (UCLA) posted his second triple-double
of the tournament, with 17 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists in an 86-73 win
over Bentonville, Ark. Senior guard Malik Monk (uncommitted) answered with 50
points for Bentonville.
