FEATS OF THE WEEK: Senior Kellen
Overstreet of Hamilton, Mo., Penney broke two state rushing records in his
team’s 68-47 Class 1 playoff win over Polo, Mo. Overstreet (committed to
Wyoming) had 345 rushing yards in the game, giving him a state-record 3,685
yards in 12 games this season. He ran for five touchdowns against Polo, pushing
his career total to a record-breaking 126. ... Ian Malaby of Stanwood, Iowa,
North Cedar set his state’s single-season record for receptions. The junior
caught 15 passes for 200 yards in a 38-14 Class 1A playoff loss to Calmar,
Iowa, South Winneshiek to finish an 11-game season with 101 catches for 1,488
yards and 22 touchdowns. ... Elmore, Ala., Edgewood Academy clobbered
Carrollton, Ala., Pickens Academy for a new state record 56 straight wins. The
Wildcats, whose last loss was in October 2010, have the third most consecutive
wins nationally among 11-man teams. ... Converse, Texas, Judson edged Spring
Branch, Texas, Smithson Valley, 31-26, to close the regular season with a 6-4
record and extend its state-record streak for winning seasons to 38. ... Hutchinson,
Kan., totaled a state-record 37 first downs and recovered three onside kicks en
route to a thrilling 64-46 Class 6A first-round playoff win over Topeka, Kan. ...
Middlebury, Vt., handled St. Johnsbury, Vt., 28-7, to notch its second straight
Division I state title and 22nd consecutive win. The Tigers have won every game
during their streak by at least 12 points.

The National Prep Poll is the only high school poll distributed to newspapers and websites around the United States by the Associated Press.
Among the criteria used in the weekly compilation of the National Prep Poll rankings are strength of schedule, the ability to accomplish the ultimate goal on a team's schedule (i.e. winning a championship), impact players and performers, a team's coaching and recent tradition.
