FEATS OF THE WEEK: Senior forward Stanley Johnson (an Arizona recruit) scored 28 points to lift No. 2 Santa Ana, Calif., Mater Dei over No. 23 Chino Hills, Calif., 48-44, for the Southern Section Open Division championship. It's the Monarch’s 22nd section title in 32 seasons under coach Gary McKnight. ... No. 3 Seattle, Rainier Beach held off Sammamish, Wash., Eastside Catholic, 47-45, for its state-record third consecutive Class 3A state crown. Senior forward Shaqquan Aaron (Louisville) led the Vikings with 22 points. ... Houston, North Shore entered the Top 25 at No. 10 after winning its first state title. Junior forward Jarrey Foster had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the Mustangs’ 57-45 win over regionally-ranked Converse, Texas, Judson in the Class 5A final. ... Virginia-bound senior forward Isaiah Wilkins -- adopted son of Naismith Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins -- had 29 points and 12 rebounds as No. 16 Norcross, Ga., Greater Atlanta Christian beat Calhoun, Ga., 58-55, for the Class 2A state title. It’s the Spartans’ fourth championship in five seasons and 50th consecutive win. ... Bayside, N.Y., Cardozo joined the Northeast rankings after edging Brooklyn, Jefferson, 56-55, for its first New York City Public School Athletic League championship since 1999. ... Regionally-ranked Highland, Utah, Lone Peak trounced Pleasant Grove, Utah, 84-66, to earn a state-record fourth straight Class 5A state championship. Senior guard T.J. Haws (Brigham Young) made eight 3-pointers and finished with 29 points.
