     FEATS OF THE WEEK: Top-ranked Montverde, Fla., Montverde Academy added its fifth and sixth victories of the year against current or former Top 25 teams. Senior guard Jalyn Patterson and junior forward Ben Simmons (both LSU recruits) scored 16 points apiece to lead the Eagles to an 83-60 blowout over No. 7 Charlotte, N.C., Northside Christian in the championship of the Wild Wing Cafe Holiday Hoops Classic in Charlotte, N.C. Later in the week, senior guard D’Angelo Russell (Ohio St.) scored 13 points off the bench to spark a 74-46 rout of regionally-ranked Marietta, Ga., Wheeler at the Cancer Research Classic in Wheeling, W.Va. Wheeler was as high as No. 6 in the national poll earlier this season. ... No. 6 Seattle, Rainier Beach pummeled No. 23 Las Vegas, Bishop Gorman, 95-67, to win the Les Schwab Invitational in Hillsboro, Ore. Senior guard David Crisp (uncommitted) poured in 27 points and tournament MVP Shaqquan Aaron (Louisville), a senior forward, scored 16. ... Senior forward Thomas Welsh (UCLA) had 25 points to lead No. 9 Los Angeles, Loyola to a 78-57 win against regionally-ranked Corona, Calif., Centennial in the final of the Under Armour Holiday Classic in San Diego. ... A 19-0 second-half run helped No. 17 Apple Valley, Minn., knock off No. 20 Overland Park, Kan., Blue Valley Northwest, 72-59, at the Timberwolves Shootout in Minneapolis. Senior guard Tyus Jones (Duke) led Apple Valley with 26 points.
