FEATS OF THE WEEK: Two weeks after he set
new state marks for both career and single-game rushing yards, senior Derrick
Henry of Yulee, Fla., put his name into the national record book by running for
100 yards or more in his 40th straight game. Henry (uncommitted) had
190 yards in a 35-0 shutout of Fernandina Beach. He has 9,807 yards for his
career, 1,425 short of the national record. ... Senior Drew Wolitarsky of
Canyon Country, Canyon became California’s all-time leader in receiving yards
during his team’s 49-7 rout of Santa Clarita, Golden Valley. Wolitarsky
(uncommitted) had 149 yards in the game, moving his career total to 4,585. The
previous record of 4,486 belonged to Steve Smith, currently of the St. Louis
Rams. ... DeShawn Stephens of Milwaukie, Ore., Putnam scored six touchdowns –
including three punt returns for scores in the second quarter – as his team
drubbed Hillsboro, Liberty, 63-0. ... Blaine Price of Brunswick broke the
Maryland record for receptions in a career. Price caught 14 passes for 222
yards during his team’s 45-20 defeat of Clear Spring, bringing the senior’s
career reception total to 198. ... Senior Cameron Van Winkle – a Washington
recruit – set a new state record with his 34th career field goal as
Snoqualmie, Wash., Mount Si clobbered Kirkland, Lake Washington, 51-0.
