Week 6 National Prep Football Poll released

URBANDALE, Iowa -- Centennial (Corona, Calif.) moved into the National Prep Football Poll, giving California five teams in the week-six national Top 25.

The Huskies completely outclassed Orange County powerhouse Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) in a 44-13 victory that they led 37-0 at halftime. It's the first time they have been nationally ranked since the final poll of 2008, when the Huskies finished the season ranked No. 2.

Then-No. 21 St. Peter's (Jersey City, N.J.) was the only nationally ranked team to lose last week. The Marauders dropped back into the regional rankings after losing 21-17 to St. Joseph (Montvale).

The top of the rankings is largely the same with Trinity (Euless, Texas) at No. 1 for the sixth straight week followed by South Panola (Batesville, Miss.) at No. 2. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) made a small but significant move up two spots in this week's rankings to No. 3, followed by Grant (Sacramento, Calif.) and Hoover (Ala.).

I've seen Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC) play as well as Dorman (Roebuck, SC) and right now, Mallard Creek is the better team. Mallard Creek has size, has athletes and can run. There are the most complete team that I've seen this year, are the best team in the Carolina's (with Northwestern (Rock Hill,SC) a close second) and deserves to be ranked in your top 25 above Dorman.
