URBANDALE, Iowa -- The Top 10 of this week's National Prep Basketball Poll includes three teams from the state of New Jersey.
No. 5 St. Patrick (Elizabeth) is still the top-rated member of the Garden State trio, although the Celtics dropped three spots after losing twice last week. One of the defeats was at the hands of No. 6 St. Benedict's (Newark), which won, 65-64, on a late bucket from junior point guard Myck Kabongo (Texas). St. Patrick's highly touted junior forward Michael Gilchrist did not play in the game.
The Celtics (11-2) also lost a 71-70 heartbreaker to No. 2 Findlay (Henderson, Nev.) last Monday at the Spalding Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass.
For the sixth consecutive week, the nation's No. 1 ranking belongs to Northland (Columbus, Ohio). Ohio State-bound big man Jared Sullinger scored 24 points for the Vikings, who routed Bishop Luers (Fort Wayne, Ind.) at the Ohio Play-by-Play Classic in Columbus. It was Northland's third win against an out-of-state opponent this season.

Having the top prospect out or injured and losing to elite level programs counts for something.

I think the Hopewell team in Huntersville, NC is one of the most balance high school teams this year I have seen. We have played them twice(W. Charlotte) and once you think you have them beat, someone else on the team will step up and make you pay. I have seen Christ School also and think Hopewell is somewhat better.
The only team in our area that starts 5 Sr. There point guard is a one of the best past first and able to run a team that i have ever seen (62 years old).

Hopewell plays in the toughest 4a conference in the state of nc period them an lake norman(15-1(7-1) easly could be in mention for national attention lake norman has a rematch with hopewell Friday an I think they will hand hopewell there first loss of the season. But both team could compete with christ school.
Hopewell is the nc 4a state tittle favorite an should be a lot higher.
