Notable: The Warriors, winners of six Prep Poll titles and 758 games in 24 years under Smith, will be one of the nation’s most talented teams once again. Two starters are back including Lamb, who averaged 14 points per game. A quartet of talented transfers is led by Smith, who averaged 21 points last season at Walbrook (Md.), and Dayton Marshall (Ohio) product Staten (Dayton). Syracuse-bound big man Moussa Keita will be counted on inside. Hornsby, a great outside shooter, is son of Grammy-winning recording artist Bruce Hornsby.
Quotable: “Our backcourt has four high Division I perimeter players. We will play four-out and one-in on offense.” – Smith, who has helped develop 24 McDonald’s All-Americans at Oak Hill.
