PrepNation 101 Preseason Countdown: No. 66 Bishop McDevitt

PrepNation.com continues the most comprehensive package of preseason high school football rankings ever published. We are counting down the PrepNation 101 Preseason High School Football Rankings, from No. 101 to No. 26, leading up to the release of the official preseason National Prep Poll on August 3.

66. Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, Pa.)
Last season: 10-3, lost in third round of Class 4A playoffs
Coach: Jeff Weachter
Key players: WR Salath Williams (6-4, 185, Sr.), WR-FS Jeremy Cornelius (6-3, 185, Sr.), WR-DB Aaron Sye (6-1, 180, Sr.), OLB-SS Jon Duckett (6-1, 210, Sr.), DB Corey Ford (5-10, 165, Sr.), RB Jamel Poteat (5-11, 195, Jr.), QB Matt Johnson (6-2, 195, Jr.), DE Noah Spence (6-3, 230, So.), OT Victor Shaffer (6-3, 275, Sr.), OG Andrew Miscannon (6-2, 265, Sr.), OT Justen Garlic (6-6, 287, Jr.)
Outlook: The Crusaders have all the ingredients necessary for greatness this season. Not only are nine offensive and eight defensive starters back in the lineup, there are no fewer than 10 players on the roster who have received Division I scholarship offers. The makings for a very potent offensive attack begin with QB Johnson. As a sophomore, he had 2,010 yards passing. His three top receiving targets remain with Williams, who is committed to Pittsburgh, Cornelius (Purdue), and Sye all returning. Another top future prospect is Poteat, who had 1,800 all-purpose yards and 21 touchdowns as a sophomore. Up front, the Crusaders are in great shape with all-league performers Shaffer and Miscannon returning along with talented underclassmen Garlic. The talent level on defense is also high, beginning with Duckett and Ford, both Division I prospects.
