Week 15 National Prep Basketball Poll released

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- With its 21st consecutive league championship already in the books, the next course of action for top-ranked Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) is earning its 21st CIF section title in 27 seasons under coach Gary McKnight.

It would be the next in a season filled with lofty goals already achieved by the Monarchs, who defeated regionally ranked Etiwanda, 70-60, on Saturday to reach Saturday's Division I-AA championship game against regionally ranked King (Riverside).

Mater Dei likely will finish the season ranked No. 1 for the first time in the National Prep Poll if can close out an undefeated season that would be capped off by its eighth state championship since 1987.

It is hard to believe that you do not have Montrose Christian in the top 20 (game tonite against Oak Hill may make your rankings look particularly bad if MC pulls it off.How is Dematha at 16 ( Morgan Wooten is no longer there; so they are not what they were in the past). Also, may want to consider TC Williams particularly if they win the AAA VA state crown for the second year in a row!

Wow, Martin Luther King still hasn't scratched the surface. I mean Cedar Hill, TX shows up everywhere and we beat them handily. We lose to Marietta, GA when half the team has the flu, and lose to Corona Centennial, CA when Chris Harriel does not suit up. Otherwise we would be Undefeated playing Mater Dei. Oh by the way did you watch the beating they took tonight? They beat up on every person up and down your poll and then as I quote from Coach McKnight, we "Embarrass them" on national television. I think you need to rethink that poll of yours for the coming week. King is the #1 ranked team in California going into the State Playoffs yet you guys have many other teams ahead of them?
