Week 5 National Prep Basketball Poll released

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- By the end of Tuesday, we could see two matchups between teams in the top five of this week's National Prep Poll.

One top-five showdown is already set, with No. 3 Oak Hill (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) battling fellow mid-Atlantic power No. 5 Montrose Christian in Monday's final of the Iolani Classic in Honolulu.

If No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) and No. 4 St. Patrick (Elizabeth, N.J.) both win on Monday, the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla., also will host a top-five battle in its championship game. The top-ranked Monarchs first must beat No. 13 Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.), which advanced with a 101-84 win against No. 15 Lincoln (Brooklyn, N.Y.) The Celtics will have their hands full in the other semifinal with No. 17 Winter Park (Fla.), which already has beaten two Top 25 teams in the tournament.

I think this poll relies too much on its preseason predictions. Teams in the top ten lose multiple games, and instead of dropping out of the top 25, this poll just bumps up the team they lost to into the middle of the rankings. How about they just aren't deserving of a top 25 spot if they keep loosing.

Winter Park #17???
Orlando Christian Prep beat them by 15 AT Winter Park in their own Rotary Tip Off Tournament. OCP is now 12-0 beating other very good teams such as Winter Springs (twice) and Oldsmar Christian (they beat Montverde). It's funny how only the big schools get respect, but OCP is for real!!!

St Benedicts lost to the Hun School, yet you look past that and show them as undefeated. They should show atleast 1 loss.
