Week 2 National Prep Basketball Poll released

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Without even playing a game, Southern California powerhouse Mater Dei (Santa Ana) ascended to the No. 1 ranking in the Week 2 National Prep Basketball Poll.

The Monarchs switched places with preseason No. 1 Duncanville (Texas), which was upset by regionally ranked Madison (San Antonio) November 22 at the McDonald's Texas Invitational.

More changes at the top of the rankings are possible -- if not likely -- later this month when the City of Palms Classic is played in Fort Myers, Fla. The tournament's amazing field includes seven Top 25 teams, including Mater Dei and Duncanville.

Don't forget about Central Pennsylvania Basketball...take a good look ....last years 8 champs all div.. statewide..4..boys 4 girls...3 champs from cent. PA...4 made it to champ. game counting Susquehanna Township...most of these schools lost hardly any players from last year...the state is made up of more than just the Pitt.& Philly areas.

Central PA hoops does not have the strength to crack the top 25 in the nation. I am a very big follower of the mid penn, especially the commonwealth division. Steel High is probably the only team that would be worthy of a regional ranking. They are a very good team, especially considering they are from single A and play in the Commonwealth which is all AAAA. N-G will probably give them a run for their money in AAA state tourny.
