Week 11 National Prep Football Poll released

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Roebuck (S.C.) Dorman ended a run of seven straight losses to then-No. 2 Duncan Byrnes with a 35-28 victory on Saturday night. The win vaulted the Cavaliers from the regional rankings all the way in to the Top 10 of this week's National Prep Football Poll.

Dorman, which likely will meet Byrnes again during the postseason, moved from No. 8 in the East Coast rankings to No. 9 in the national poll. Byrnes, which lost only its third regular season game in seven years, dropped to No. 15.

Otherwise, last week proved rather uneventful for teams in the national and regional rankings. The 70 teams in the Week 10 poll compiled a collective 63-6-0 record (one team was idle).

Armwood High School in Seffner, Florida is about as hot as anyone…
So far this season in 8 games, Armwood has 6 defensive shutouts (the 2 points in the first game were given up by the offense and Hillsborough's 7 points on Friday were an offensive fumble that the Hills D picked up and ran all the way back for the only TD). In addition in 8 games, Armwood has seen the “running clock” that is triggered by Florida's "mercy rule" at the end of the game in the last 7 straight games. Two of those teams that they forced the "running clock on were ranked in the top 10 in the State of Florida at the time. And yet this week you bumped someone ahead of them? They beat state ranked Hillsborough High School 46-7 and you bumped someone ahead of them?

How is it possible that you rank Roebuck, S.C., Dorman 9th ahead of all the other poll sitters like CAMDEN county after they are undefeated and were previously ranked and scored 148 points in the last two games and lead the nation in points per game and as well point differential. As well you rank Duncan, S.C., Byrnes 1 spot ahead of them after a defeat! Your way off on all this. So what you're saying is even thopugh you didn't even have Roebuck, S.C., Dorman ranked in the top 25 last week or all year for that matter all of a sudden not only is a 1 loss team like Duncan, S.C., Byrnes better than Camden but the team out of nowhere Roebuck, S.C., Dorman. Could it be possible that they're both worse than Camden NOT better. Maybe Duncan, S.C., Byrnes was over-rated to begin with and the loss to Roebuck, S.C., Dorman just proved it so maybe the're both worse and at least Camden and other teams to say the least should be ranked ahead. Well my last point is I can't wait for Camden to smoke Lowndes in the state championship game. Go wildcats

i agree 100% with the comment above. ranking dorman that high and still keeping byrnes in the top 15 (shouldnt even b top 25)after losing to a previously nationally unranked team is a joke. how does dorman jump so many teams that did nothing wrong. did dorman overnight become better than the other teams...NO!!! they had a good win but thats it. how do u drop st. bonaventure out of the national rankings a few weeks ago when they lost to a top ten team in long beach poly 12-7 when st bonaventure was top 20. that one of the closest games ive ever seen, coulda gone either way, but you drop sb 4 losing to a top ten team, byrnes loses to a nationally unranked team and still stays top 15, where is the reasoning 4 that???

You are really missing the boat Jamie. The two above comments say it all.

OK, so I do some homework on Gateway, the team you jumped over Armwood. And while Armwood was forcing a running clock on State ranked Hillsborough for a final 46-6 win, Gateway needed a sack on 4th down to preserve the 31-27 victory over a regionally ranked team.
?

do you guys think anyone reads these comments?

Take a look at Coldwater, Ohio. Public school in Division 4. 1 is biggest, 6 is smallest. Not saying they need a No. 1 ranking, but they could beat a couple on this list.

Congrat's to Dormam High School Cavaliers of beautiful Roebuck, SC for the true domination of Byrnes this past weekend. For low country "neophites" lacking geographic knowledge of the great Upstate state of South Carolina, Roebuck is suburb of Spartanburg. By the way, the Carolina Panthers think enough of this area to hold training camp hear for the past 14 years. Dorman wiped the vaulted Duncan "donuts" in grand fashion @ Cavaliers Nation on Saturday Night. I thought true fans did not leave the stadium until after the final horn sounded. Half of the "burns" faithful were departing by mid-way through 3rd quarter. The trip back to "tucapu" is only 10 miles. We look forward to hosting this over rated group of showboats again if they are fortunate enough to make it to the upper state championship game to be played at Cavailer stadium in a few weeks. By the way South Pointe may have something to say about Byrnes making it to this game as well. This Tuesday Night is Byrnes Zaxby's Chicken night in Duncan and on tonights' menu the feature item will be "overbaked Crow". Eat-up and enjoy. The same item will be served again in a few weeks.

Camden County, if you can find I-26East bound, take Exit 28 and you see the finest High School in the state of South Carolina.

Go Cavaliers as you head to 2008 State Championship!

South Carolina over the past few years has been over looked and under-rated, thanks to Byrnes putting there season on the line as of 2002-date with out-of-state teams and perform at a high level of wins, they no dout put SC programs in the spotlight. South Carolina programs can and do match all the top programs in the nation. Many teams from SC will get a closer look in the near future for national rankings. We were at the Dorman vs Byrnes game last Saturday Night, and BOTH teams deserve a spot in the Top 25 Rankings. As we have seen many games this year across the nation, with top teams from Texas, Ohio, Florida, Tenn., Ga., South Carolina teams are very strong, and could give anyone in the nation a run for there money. We can only hope that other states will step into the spotlight and go out of state head-head as Byrnes has. Best of luck to all teams for the rest of this year.

I don't get how a previously un-ranked Dorman can come in at # 9 after 11 weeks on the basis of 1 big win. As the old saying goes " Even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while".
You've pushed other teams that have been ranked all year, winning week in and week out, down the board and added a team that might have pulled off the one great performance of their season.

Dorman Cavaliers have the best D in the nation. They are undefeated and they beat the #1 team in the nation. What more can u ask. They have the #1 seed in the South Carolina 4A-II playoffs. What more can u ask for....seriously. Hey if u ask me Dorman should be ranked #1. What other team is undefeated and be the #1 team in the nation.

dorman have the best d in the nation??? now thats an exaggeration. dont kno much bout the game but up 35-7 in the 3rd qtr and win 35-28 doesnt sound like the best d in the nation (if the offense/special teams of dorman gave up points then that another story) still i find it hard to believe they have the best d in the nation and should b ranked #1. great win but to say that makes them the number one team in the nation is wrong. most of the other top ranked teams have done nothing wrong and have quality wins as well. u say an undefeated team who beats the #1 team in the country should b #1, well i kno this is just an example but, being that TULSA is undefeated, if they were to play #1 ranked TEXAS rite now and win, should they be the #1 team in the country??? the answer NO. good, better yet great win but they should not pass up teams like ALABAMA, PENN ST, TEXAS TECH,FLORIDA, GEORGIA, USC, etc...

Just watched Gateway on FCS. You have got to be kidding me! They wouldn't be a top ten team in Florida, let along a top ten national team. The officials won their game against McKeesport for them. Gateway only scored 3 points in the second half. Do you guys ever see film on these teams?
