PrepNation 101 Preseason FB Countdown: No. 60 Arlington Bowie

Key players: QB Christian Matthews (6-3, 185, Sr.), DB Dexter Linton (5-11, 180, Sr.), LB Chris Hank (6-0, 220, Sr.), OG Jamaal Lewis (6-3, 290, Sr.), DE Demetrius Chambers (6-0, 230, Sr.), WR Trae Hawkins (5-8, 160, Jr.), WR Montre Nelson (6-3, 210, Jr.), DE Donovan Vestal (6-5, 210, Jr.)
Biggest strength: QB position, team speed
Question mark: Inexperience
Outlook: A pair of Kansas recruits lead the Volunteers, who have only four other starters returning. Matthews was named district MVP as a junior after completing 64 percent of his passes for 2,806 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also ran for 629 yards and nine scores. Fellow future Jayhawk Linton, who has excellent speed, had 95 tackles, made three interceptions, and blocked two kicks. Lewis, a first team all-district selection, is one of two returning starters on the offensive line. All-district pick Hank will captain a young but talented defense. Nelson and Vestal are a two juniors with tremendous potential.
