Biggest strength: Passing game, linebackers, secondary

Question mark: Depth

Outlook: The Pirates nabbed their first state bowl championship and eighth CIF section crown last season. Five starters on each side of the ball return led by Colorado-bound quarterback Wynn. As a junior, he completed 166-of-283 passes (59 percent) for 2,589 yards and 21 touchdowns. The offensive line should be strong with the return of Molesi and California recruit Schwenke. The receiving corps are in good shape with Whittaker and San Diego State commit Nicholas returning to duty. Va-enna will bring leadership and toughness to the defense.
