I have watched several of these teams play, and I have to say that Katy should be #1. If I were to pick one team to play for my life this year, it would be the current Katy squad. They are one of the best assembled and best coached high school teams in history. Their cohesion as a team, as a unit, is simply incredible.

Not sure about that. Katy is good, but I agree with most folks that St. X is a monster of a team and has dominated multiple, upon multiple ranked teams this year, not only in Ohio, but nationwide, and I am not even from Ohio. You should watch a couple of their game films. I have seen both play and St. X would win it.

Yeah not sure about Katy either, very good team but did not play anyone outside their state. Miami Northwestern travelled to Texas and played defending state champs Carroll. St X played teams outside their state Maryland, Kentucky, & Indiana, but did not have to leave their own state to play them. Miami Washington played Summersville, SC. Bottom line you want to be Nationally top-ranked, then your schedule better have at least one or two teams outside your state nationally ranked to be consider the best in the nation if your loss column has a zero at the end of the season! Im from Florida and I always pull for the Florida team like Northwestern & Washington, but when you play a schedule like St Xaiver did hands down you deserve to be number one in the nation!

Only game I seen Xavier play this year was against our state champs.--Trinity. We were awesome with our only loss to St X of Cincinnati! Their team has a kicker-reciever that has to be the best in the country (Name?) and a lights out defense! I 'm good with them at #1!

We took them to 3OT at our place in Cleveland. If it had not been that St. X was playing a soph at QB in his first-ever start, and without one of their best blocking TEs that St. X would have dominated the game. Our blitzing LBs held their RB Ashley in check but only because we did not have to defend the pass.

Kudos to our big brother Jesuit school down in Cincinnati!! At least we scored on you!

Glad to see Amherst County High School from Amherst Virginia in your rankings for the first time. They have won back to back State Championships and possibly could win a third next year. Congratulations.

St. X definitely should be #1 based on their strength of schedule. They would welcome playing either Katy or Northwestern if there was any doubt.

2007 Bombers Reign!

I really wonder how the regional rankings were obtained.
In the Southwest you have teams with 11-5 records, yet Rosenberg, TX Lamar Consolidated went undefeated and won the Class 4-A Div II State Championship. Their running back is one of the greatest to ever play in the state with over 8000 yards.

It's nice to see Euless Trinity has gotten some notice. Trinity has got a monster of a team for 2008! Euless Trinity is looking for a match-up on Sept 1st for the Texas Hign school Showcase but Ok. Jenks declined, so we are hoping for John Curtis to accept.

Congrats to St.X but Coilrain should be in the top 25... we will be in there next year and we will get revenge over St.X first game of the season
