First I must say that this year's Byrnes team is not the Byrnes of the past. Second, the South Pointe - Northwestern game had more prospects and both NW and South Pointe looked bigger, faster and seemed to have better athletes than either Byrnes or Hoover. Lastly, I know that Hoover was the higher ranked team and continue to be ranked in your national top 10. However, if Hoover and Northwestern (Rock Hill, SC) were to play each other, based on what I've seen from both squads, NW has a heck of a chance to beat them. I don't see Hoover completely stopping that offense (there's no Jadeveon Clowney or Gerald Dixon type of D-Lineman on Hoover) and Northwestern's defense has the athletic ability, size, and speed to hang with Hoover. I know it's early, but Northwestern could beat Hoover head to head and should be ranked higher in your rankings this week, certainly above Butler (Matthews, NC) who is not the same team without Christian LeMay.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15640485.post-50458511690714805082010-08-30T11:57:39.923-05:002010-08-30T11:57:39.923-05:00If the game was only a scrimmage, why in the world...If the game was only a scrimmage, why in the world would you adjust any rankings for it, that's what I don't understand.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15640485.post-1188410884549889832010-08-30T11:17:26.988-05:002010-08-30T11:17:26.988-05:00Well, it was a scrimmage because they game didn...Well, it was a scrimmage because they game didn't count in the win/loss column.

That said, if you read any part of it, you'd see our poll certainly did not the results as if the game didn't count. Manatee shot up to No. 5 this week and Plant dropped out of the rankings altogether.Jamie DeMoneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01523797634119262954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15640485.post-49553186921589915852010-08-30T11:13:59.302-05:002010-08-30T11:13:59.302-05:00the Plant-manatee game was no scrimmage. Plant...the Plant-manatee game was no scrimmage. Plant's injured QB was in there for the whole game. What a joke to call this a scrimmage or pre-season game.SPORTSWRITERhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15504506290800602721noreply@blogger.com
