Final (Week 19) National Prep Football Poll released

WAUKEE, Iowa -- For the first time in the 28-year history of the National Prep Football Poll, the No. 1 team in the final rankings hails from the state of Nevada. Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) held on to the top spot for the 13th consecutive week, followed closely behind by three-time defending Texas champion Allen at No. 2 and six-time Prep Poll titlist De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) at No. 3. The Gaels join Findlay Prep (Henderson) as Nevada's only mythical national champions in high school sports. Findlay claimed the National Prep Basketball Poll title in 2009. 

Week 5 National Prep Basketball Poll released

WAUKEE, Iowa -- On the heels of its impressive tournament victory at the Tarkanian Classic, Redondo Union (Calif.) made its season debut in the National Prep Basketball Poll at No. 16 this week. The Seahawks closed out the title in the Platinum Division of the star-studded event with a 66-51 win over No. 19 Putnam City West (Oklahoma City). Redondo went 4-0 in the tournament, with all its wins coming against teams that have been nationally or regionally ranked this season.
